Welcome to Grifton!
On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Grifton and give you a little information that may be useful. We feel that Grifton is an ideal community, and our greatest pride is the people who make this town home. Thank you for being part of this community.
The Board of Commissioners meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Household Garbage
You should have one roll-out garbage can and one recycling bin per household. Should you feel the need to have an extra can, the cost is $8.00 extra per month. To request an additional trash or recycling bin, give Town Hall a call, or stop by in person to make this request. Please remember to bag your garbage when putting it in the rollout container. Your containers will need to be rolled out to the curb on Wednesday night to ensure that your garbage and recycling is picked up on Thursday. Containers may not be put out before 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and must be rolled in by 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
Yard Waste
Yard waste and limbs will be collected on Monday and Tuesday. Yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, pine straw, pinecones) must be bagged or boxed, free of foreign objects, and placed at the curb for collection. Limbs must be no longer than 4 feet and no wider than 6 inches in diameter. They must be neatly stacked at the curb with butt ends facing the street. We will not pick up debris larger than 100 gallons per week. The town accepts up to two cubic yards of sticks per week per location, roughly two standard pickup truck loads.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE DO NOT PICK UP BULK ITEMS.
PLEASE ALSO REMEMBER THAT GRIFTON'S UTILITIES TEAM WILL RESPOND TO AN ACTIVE SERVICE CALL OVER LEAF AND LIMB PICKUP. If Grifton Utilities has missed your home, please call Town Hall with any questions or concerns.
