The purpose of this survey is to update our current Comprehensive Land Use Plan (you can view the current version on our website under the Planning tab). As required by North Carolina General Statute 160D‑501(a), local governments “shall adopt and reasonably maintain a comprehensive plan or land use plan.”
Typically, these plans are updated every 5–10 years, depending on factors such as growth rate, physical changes, economic shifts, and social conditions. In communities experiencing limited change, a plan may remain effective for more than 10 years without requiring an update.
Our community is now due for an update, and we need your input to help guide the future of our town!
