Town of Grifton

The Planning Department is responsible for the maintenance and enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance. The Department is also responsible for all long range planning, such as the Land Use Plan and Comprehensive Plan, as well as current planning issues such as rezoning, special/conditional use permits, commercial site plan review, and subdivision plat reviews. The Town Administrator serves as staff to the Planning Board, which is an advisory Board to the Board of Commissioners All rezonings, special/conditional use permits, and major subdivision plats are subject to approval by the Board of Commissioners.

The Grifton Planning Board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00pm at the Grifton Town Hall. The Grifton Board of Adjustment meets on an as-needed basis. In order for an item to be placed on the Planning Board agenda, a complete application, application fee(s), and all relative information must be submitted to Joe Albright at least 10 days before the next regularly scheduled meeting.
