RULES GOVERNING DEPOT RENTAL
The Grifton Railroad Depot is available to the public for use for a rental fee. This means that any individual or group can rent the depot as long as they abide by the rules set forth below:
1. The Grifton Depot will rent for $150.00 per day (entire premises). (8:00AM TO 8:00 A.M)
2. To guarantee that the building will be left in the condition it was found, a $100.00 security deposit is required in addition to the rental fee. To guarantee your booking date you also have to pay a $25.00 nonrefundable holding deposit however, this amount will go towards the rental fee.
3. The individual or group renting the depot is responsible for its safekeeping. No vandalism will be allowed and the conduct of those attending will be the responsibility of the renter.
4. Decorating the depot is permitted but is the responsibility of those renting. No thumb tacks, nails or tape of any type will be permitted in/on the walls or ceiling. Eye hooks have been placed in each corner, the middle wall, and one in the center of the ceiling. These may be used to hang streamers, etc.
5. Table and chairs are to be returned to their respective dollies after each use. Tables should be stacked in the dollies with table top to table top to avoid scratching. The chairs should be stacked upright in their dollies in an orderly fashion. All chairs and tables must be stored inside the building. Any broken or damaged pieces should be reported with return of the key. Normal wear is expected but abuse must be paid for in the value of the item.
6. The floors must be swept and dust mopped, both bathrooms cleaned, and the kitchen left in an orderly fashion. All garbage must be bagged and tied before it is placed in containers located outside. Garbage containers must be left in their designated position on the garbage platform.
7. The air conditioner must be turned to the off position after the building is through being used. If heating is used, the thermostat should be turned to its lowest setting. If either is left on, a fee of $25.00 per day will be deducted from the security deposit.
8. All lights must be turned off when the building is not in use and after the renter’s function is over.
9. The outside grounds must be left as clean as found.
10. There will be NO FIRE of any type allowed on the depot deck.

12. THE SELLING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AT THE DEPOT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED (charging admission to get into a function at the depot and then giving free alcohol also constitutes selling).
NOTE: ABC LAWS REQUIRE THAT A “SPECIAL OCCASION” PERMIT BE OBTAINED FOR THE SERVING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.
